2026

From May 10 to 12,2026, the inaugural Asia Animation and Game Production Technology and Equipment Exhibition concluded successfully at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. As the only provincial-level authoritative organization in the animation industry in Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Animation Industry Association participated collectively with several leading member enterprises in animation, gaming, and digital content sectors within the province. The event served as a hub connecting Guangdong's original animation IPs, animation production companies, game developers, and upstream/downstream technology and equipment enterprises, becoming a pivotal local support force for the exhibition.
The Guangdong Animation Industry Association (formerly the Guangdong Animation Association) was established in 2014 with approval from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, serving as the most comprehensive provincial non-profit organization for the animation industry in South China. It brings together over 100 high-quality member entities, including original IP developers, animation production studios, game development companies, digital cultural tourism providers, trendy toy derivatives manufacturers, film post-production firms, and virtual production technology companies. The association boasts corporate resources associated with nationally renowned original animation IPs such as "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf,"  "Bala La Little Magic Fairy," and "Armored Warriors," covering the entire upstream and downstream segments of the animation and gaming industry chain. It has long undertaken responsibilities including industry coordination, sectoral exchange, member empowerment, exhibition organization, policy implementation, and talent cultivation, continuously advancing the digitalization, industrialization, and cross-sector integration of Guangdong's animation and gaming industries.
For this exhibition, the association has established a dedicated joint display area to showcase the overall strength of Guangdong's local animation industry. It brought together multiple council members and member enterprises—including Original Power, Dali Animation, Hongmao Lantu, Yuntu Animation, and Zhangaow Culture—to present original animation IPs, 3D animation production workflows, anime-style game development solutions, virtual digital humans, and commercialization cases of animation derivatives. Concurrently, the association collaborated with co-organizers to host a specialized supply-demand matching session for Guangdong's animation industry, facilitating one-on-one discussions between local animation content companies and exhibitors specializing in motion capture equipment, rendering workstations, art outsourcing services, XR interaction technologies, and game development software/hardware solutions.
At the exhibition, the association provided industry professionals nationwide with an interpretation of Guangdong Province's support policies for the animation and gaming sector, shared practical experiences in implementing cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven animation, real-time rendering, and virtual production, and facilitated discussions on key industry topics including IP industrialization, bidirectional collaboration between animation and gaming, global expansion of digital content, and joint talent development between educational institutions and enterprises. Numerous equipment manufacturers, game development teams, and cultural tourism operators stopped by to inquire, leveraging the association's platform to access high-quality animation resources from Guangdong and reaching preliminary agreements on equipment procurement, joint IP development, and technical service partnerships.
The association's exhibition representative noted that Guangdong is a national hub for the animation and gaming industry, boasting a complete content creation and commercialization ecosystem. However, small and medium-sized studios in the sector commonly face challenges such as outdated production equipment, inefficient technical workflows, and inadequate supply-demand channels. This year's Asia Animation and Gaming Production Technology and Equipment Exhibition establishes a two-way connection between "content and equipment." By organizing member participation, the association aims to help local animation companies access cutting-edge production software/hardware and advanced manufacturing technologies in a one-stop environment, while showcasing Guangdong's strength in original animation IPs nationwide and fostering collaboration across the entire industry chain.
Next, the Guangdong Animation Industry Association will establish a long-term strategic partnership with the exhibition organizers, annually organizing member enterprises to participate collectively in exhibitions and jointly hosting industry forums, procurement matchmaking events, and technical sharing activities. By leveraging the exhibition as a regular platform for industrial exchange, it aims to enhance the quality and upgrade the animation and gaming industry in Guangdong, facilitate two-way trade channels both domestically and internationally, and promote high-quality development of South China's digital cultural and creative sector.
Industry experts noted that the Guangdong Animation Industry Association's participation in the exhibition has infused local core industrial resources into this event, fostering efficient synergy between animation content and production technologies/equipment, while establishing a vital exchange platform for the integrated development of China's animation and gaming industries.
